Daniel Bednarik sincerely enjoys his work and his fascinated with his field, expanding upon his knowledge of biotechnology, scientific discovery tools and the commercial and therapeutic opportunities they offer. Outside of his career, Daniel Bednarik’s interests include modern art, rugby, fishing/hunting, equine sports, gardening, boating, beach activities and travel.
Daniel Bednarik has had years of experience within the broad field of biopharmaceutical research, which has enabled him to gather invaluable experience within a number of niches of biopharmaceutical research. He was the Director of Genomics and Bioinformatics at Cardiome Pharma Corporation, and co-founded a company called Artesian Therapeutics, Inc. In this company that he co-founded, Daniel Bednarik was the Vice President of Cardiovascular biology. This company was ultimately bought by Cardiome, where Daniel then worked. Within Cardiome, Daniel Bednarik’s expertise was put to use in his contributing to the development of genomic and proteomic biomarkers. The aim of this research and cultivation of biomarkers was to augment and speed up the standard model of the clinical trial. The overall goal of Cardiome at this time was to create and develop the largest ever database of cardiovascular gene expression for Gene Logic.
At his most recent past venture, as the Vice President of the MEU at Intrexon, Daniel Bednarik worked with the Molecular Engineering Unit and other branches of the company in order to facilitate projects within the company and develop new technologies. He worked closely with other members of the company who are higher- up within the company in order to make crucial decisions and oversee new research projects and development.
